Elizabeth Johnston

Director of Network Development

Elizabeth Johnston is the Director of Network Development for Communities in School of Texas. Her role is to strengthen the Texas network of CIS affiliates through funding, awareness, and partnerships.

She has a passion for supporting student education and is energized by inviting others to help meet community needs by donating funds, volunteering time, and advocating for others. Prior to her work with CIS of Texas, she was the Executive Director for the Prosper Education Foundation where she raised funds and invested them into Prosper ISD through student programs, student scholarships, and teacher support. She also served for many years as the Director of Development and Marketing for Habitat for Humanity of Collin County. Earlier in her career, she worked in progressive leadership roles in marketing and communications within the for-profit arena.

Elizabeth is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended Bucknell University. Now, she is happy to call Texas home where she lives with her husband and two children.
